4、relaysintransmissionsystemsarerequiredtobeabletodealwithcomplicatedfaultsinvolvingnon-conventionalconnections,whichposesachallengetotheshortcircuitanalysisperformedforthedatasettingsoftherelay.Thetraditionalsequencedomainmethodhascongenitaldefectstotreatsuchcase

5、s,whichleadstoatrendofusingtheactualphasedomainmethodinfaultcalculation.Althoughthecalculationspeedofthephasedomainmethodisnotsofastandismemoryconsumable,itperfomrswellwhenhandlingcomplicatedfaults.Todaymoreandmorecommercialsoftwareinvolvesphasedomaincalculation

6、intheirshortcircuitanalysistotreatcomplicatedcases.Withtheadvanceddevelopmentofcomputers,thereisapossibilitytototallygetridofthesequencemethod.Inthisthesis,ashortcircuitanalysismethodbasedonphasedomainisdeveloped.Afterthethreesequenceadmittancematricesofthesyste

7、marebuilt,allthedataaretransformedintophasedomaintogetthephasedomainadmittancematrix.Thefollowingfaultcalculationsareperformedpurelyinphasedomain.Thetestresultsofdifferenttypesoffaultsin3bus,14bus,and30bustransmissionsystemsarepresentedandcomparedwiththeresultso
