4、sdiscrete-continuum(hy-brid)setupisparsimonious;itrequiresonlyonemoreparameterthanthesimplekinematicwavemodel.Theextraparameteriseasytoestimateandinallourapplicationstakesphysicallymeaningfulvalues.We¯ndthatthemodelreproduces(andexplains)twobottleneckphenom-enap
