3、yticin-processdressing(ELID)isaneffectivemethodtodressthegrindingwheelduringgrinding.Thewearmechanismofmetal-bondedgrind-ingwheelsdressedusingELIDisdifferentformtheconventionalgrindingmethodsbecausethebondstrengthofthewheel-workingsurfaceisreducedbyelectrolysis.Thereducti

4、onofbondstrengthreducesthegrit-depth-of-cutandhencethesurfacefinishisimproved.Theoxidelayerformedonthesurfaceofthegrindingwheelexperiencesmacrofractureattheendofwheellifewhilemachininghardandbrittlework-pieces.Whenthewheelwearisdominatedbymacrofracture,thewheel-workingsurf

5、aceisfreefromloadedchipsandworndiamondgrits.Whentheoxidelayerisremovedfromthewheelsurface,theelectricalconductivityofthegrindingwheelincreases,andthatstimulateselec-trolyticdressing.Theconditionsappliedtothepulsecurrentinfluencetheamountoflayeroxidizingfromthegrindingwheel
