3、learnersandusersofEnglishasaforeignlanguageareawareofthechangingroleofEnglish,howtheyrelatetothenewphenomenonofELF,andinwhatwaysELFaffectstheirlanguagelearningaims.Thepresentstudyinvestigatesthisissueamongaspecificgroupoflearners:tertiarylevelstudentsofvariousbranchesofEnglishfo

4、rSpecificPurposes(ESP).Usingquestionnairedatafrom239studentsfromfourdifferenteducationalinstitutionsinasmallEUcountry,structuralequationmodelingwasperformedtorevealtherelationshipbetweenELF,ESP,Englishasanativelanguage(ENL)andthestudentslanguagelearningbeliefsandaims.Ourmodelsho
