5、olearnalanguage,butalsoinvolvessustainingeffortsandpersistence.Reading,likeotherskills,isnotapassiveskill.Itneedsstrongmotivation.Ifoneistobecomealifelonglearner,itisimperativethatonehavethedesiretoread.Motivationalresearchershaveproposedandinvestigatedwhattheyc

6、onsidertobethemostimportantmotivationalconstructsthatmediateachievementbehavior.Yetmostoftheirworkhasbeenonmotivationingeneralratherthanmotivationforspecificareassuchasreading.WigfieldandGuthrietriedtobridgethegapbetweenthemotivationandreadingresearchliteratures

7、.Duetoalackofliteraturedealingspecificallywithreadingmotivation,theysoughtsupportfortheirmodelbydrawinguponanumberofgeneralmotivationalconstructsthatarerelevanttoengaginginreading.Resultsofthestudyindicatesthatdifferentdimensionsofreadingmotivationscanbecharacte
