3、ionshavecreatedade-plications,sinusoidalcoding,subbandcoding,transformcoding.mandforhigh-qualitydigitalaudiodeliveryatlowbitrates.Inresponsetothisneed,considerableresearchhasbeendevotedtothedevelopmentofalgorithmsforperceptuallytransparentcodingI.INTRODUCTIONofhigh-fidelity(CD-quality)di
4、gitalaudio.Asaresult,manyalgo-rithmshavebeenproposed,andseveralhavenowbecomeinter-Audiocodingoraudiocompressionalgorithmsareusednationaland/orcommercialproductstandards.Thispaperreviewstoobtaincompactdigitalrepresentationsofhigh-fidelityalgorithmsforperceptuallytransparentcodingofCD-qual
5、itydig-(wideband)audiosignalsforthepurposeofefficienttrans-italaudio,includingbothresearchandstandardizationactivities.missionorstorage.ThecentralobjectiveinaudiocodingisThispaperisorganizedasfollows.First,psychoacousticprinci-plesaredescribed,withtheMPEGpsychoacousticsignalanalysistorep
6、resentthesignalwithaminimumnumberofbitswhilemodel1discussedinsomedetail.Next,filterbankdesignissuesachievingtransparentsignalreproduction,i.e.,generatingandalgorithmsareaddressed,withaparticularemphasisplacedoutputaudiothatcannotbedistinguishedfromtheoriginalonthemodifieddiscretecosinetr
