4、omakeasoundassessmentofeachcandidate’slikelyperformance. Themainargumentinfavouroftheinterview—anditis,perhaps,agoodargument—isthatanemployerisconcernednotonlywithacandidate’sability,butwiththesuitabilityofhisorherpersonalityfortheparticularworksituation.Manyemployers,forexample,willoverlookocca

5、sionalinefficienciesfromtheirsecretaryprovidedshehasapleasantpersonality.Itisperhastruetosay,therefore,thattherealpurposeofaninterviewisnottoassesstheassssableaspectsofeachcandidatebuttomakeaguessatthemoreintangiblethings,suchaspersonality,characterandsocialability.Unfortunately,bothfortheemploy
