4、narithmeticandspelling.Hecontinuedtoteachschooluntil1841,whenheturnedtojournalismasafull-timecareer.HesoonbecameeditorforanumberofBrooklynandNewYorkpapers.From1846to1847WhitmanwastheeditoroftheBrooklynDailyEagle.WhitmanwenttoNewOrleansin1848,wherehewaseditorforabrieftimeoft
