3、hcanprovideastrongimpetustoeconomicdevelopment.Foreigndirectinvestment,initsclassicdefinition,isdefinedasacompanyfromonecountrymakingaphysicalinvestmentintobuildingafactoryinanothercountry.Thedirectinvestmentinbuildings,machineryandequipmentisincontrastwithmakingaportfolioinvestment,
4、whichisconsideredanindirectinvestment.Inrecentyears,givenrapidgrowthandchangeinglobalinvestmentpatterns,thedefinitionhasbeenbroadenedtoincludetheacquisitionofalastingmanagementinterestinacompanyorenterpriseoutsidetheinvestingfirm’shomecountry.Assuch,itmaytakemanyforms,suchasadirectac
