2、SummarySixvariantvirusesoftheJHMVstrainofmurinecoronaviruswithlarge(~1-2,CNSV,DLandDS)orsmall(sp-4andJHM-X)SproteinswerecomparedintermsoftheirrelativeneurovirulenceinweanlingLewisrats.Inoculationofvariousdosesofthevariantsrevealedthatthecl-2andCNSVwerehighlyvirulentandDLandDSwerelow-virulent,whiles
3、p-4andJHM-Xwereavirulent.Pathologicalexamina-tionofratsinfectedwithvariants~1-2,DLandsp-4showedthatthecl-2andDLinducedsevereandmildacuteencephalomyelitis,respectively,whilenolesionswereobservedinthecentralnervoussystemofratsinfectedwithsp-4.Virusgrowthanddistributionofantigeninratbrainscorrelatedst
