1、PERFORMANCEMANAGEMENTPOLICYTheGoverningBodyofHomertonChildren’sCentreadoptedthisperformancemanagementpolicyon31October2007.APPLICATIONOFTHEPOLICYThepolicyappliestotheheadteacherandtoallteachersemployedbytheschoolexceptteachersoncontractsoflessthanoneterm,thoseundergoinginduction(ieNQTs)an

2、dthosewhoarethesubjectofcapabilityprocedures.PURPOSEThispolicysetsouttheframeworkforaclearandconsistentassessmentoftheoverallperformanceofteachersandtheheadteacherandforsupportingtheirdevelopmentneedswithinthecontextoftheschool'simprovementplanandtheirownprofessionalneeds.Whereteachersare

3、eligibleforpayprogression,theassessmentofperformancethroughoutthecycleagainsttheperformancecriteriaspecifiedinthestatementwillbethebasisonwhichtherecommendationismadebythereviewer.Thispolicyshouldbereadinconjunctionwiththeschool'spaypolicywhichprovidesdetailsofthearrangementsrelatingtotea

4、cher'spayinaccordancewiththeSchoolTeachers'PayandConditionsDocument.LINKSTOSCHOOLIMPROVEMENT,SCHOOLSELFEVALUATIONANDSCHOOLDEVELOPMENTPLANNINGTocomplywiththerequirementtoshowhowthearrangementsforperformancemanagementlinkwiththoseforschoolimprovement,schoolself-evaluationandschooldevelopmen

5、tplanningandtominimiseworkloadandbureaucracytheperformancemanagementprocesswillbethemainsourceofinformationasappropriateforschoolself-evaluationandthewiderschoolimprovementprocess.Similarly,theschoolimprovementanddevelopmentplanandtheschool'sselfevaluationformarekeydocumentsfortheperforma

6、ncemanagementprocess.Allreviewersareexpectedtoexplorethealignmentofreviewees'objectiveswiththeschool'sprioritiesandplans.Theobjectivesshouldalsoreflectreviewees'professionalaspirations.CONSISTENCYOFTREATMENTANDFAIRNESSTheGoverningBodyiscommittedtoensuringconsistencyoftreatmentandfairnessi

7、ntheoperationofperformancemanagement.Toensurethisthefollowingprovisionsaremadeinrelationtomoderation,qualityassuranceandobjectivesetting.QualityassuranceTheheadteacherhasdeterminedthatshewilldelegatethereviewerroleforsomeorallteachersforwhomsheisnotthelinemanager.In
