2、ialbardsinScotland.HeisalsowidelyregardedasthenationalpoetofScotlandandiscelebratedaroundtheworld.HispoemsarealwayswrittenintheScottishdialectonavarietyofversionsexpoundingondifferentsubjects,suchaspoliticalpoems,satiricalepigramsandlyricsballads.Ifdomesticstudiesaremainlyconcernedwiththe
3、appreciationandtranslationofcertainepigramsandepistlesofBurns’earlypoems,thisthesiswillmainlyexplorehislaterpoemsfromanothernewpointtoenlargeawilderhorizon---Burns’vocationalinvolvementwiththeprosethgeorgicsandScotspastoralinthe18century,towhichhehasgraduallyattractedmoreandmoreattention.

5、ptionoftheStandardHabbie.SomeofhismostfamouspoemssuchasToaMouseandHolyWillie’sPrayerhavesurpriseduswiththeirunusualpoetictechniques,particularlyforitsemploymentofthisrepresentative6-linestanza.Ontheotherhand,RobertBurnscallsfortherenaissanceofclassical,andespeciallyTheocritanpastoral,whic
