4、toevaluateatranslationproduct?Inthemacro-contextofflourishoflinguistictheories,theoristsinthetranslationcircle,keeptothegoldenlawoftheprincipleofequivalence.ThetheoryofTranslationEquivalenceisthecentralissueinwesterntranslationtheories.Andthepresentationof
5、thistheorygivesgreatimpetustothedevelopmentandimprovementoftranslationtheory.It’snotdifficultforustodiscoverthatitisthetheoryofTranslationEquivalencethatservesasguidelinesingovernmentnametranslationinChina.Nametranslation,asdefined,isthereplacementofthenam
6、einthesourcelanguagebyanequivalentnameorotherwordsinthetargetlanguage.TranslatingChinesegovernmentnamesintoEnglish,similarly,isreplacingtheChinesegovernmentnamewithanequivalentinEnglish.Metaphoricallyspeaking,translationisoftendescribedasamovingtrajectoryg
7、oingfromAtoBalongapathoracontainertocarrysomethingacrossfromAtoB.ThisviewiscommonlyheldbybothtranslationpractitionersandtheoristsintheWest.Inthisview,theydonotexpectthatthistrajectoryorsomethingwillchangeitsidentityasitmovesorasitiscarried.InChina,totransl
