4、y;thereforethedevelopmentofnewcatalystsforsynthesisingammoniaatahighrateundermildconditions(lowtemperatureandlowpressure)isnecessary.Here,weshowthatRu/La0.5Ce0.5O1.75pre-reducedatanunusuallyhightemperature(650C)catalysedammoniasynthesisatextremelyhighrat
5、esundermildconditions;specifically,atareactiontemperatureof350C,therateswere13.4,31.3,andCreativeCommonsAttribution3.0UnportedLicence.44.4mmolg1h1at0.1,1.0,and3.0MPa,respectively.Kineticanalysisrevealedthatthiscatalystisfreeofhydrogenpoisoningundertheco
6、nditionstested.ElectronenergylossspectroscopycombinedwithO2absorptioncapacitymeasurementsrevealedthatthereducedcatalystconsistedoffineRuparticles(meandiameter<2.0nm)thatwerepartiallycoveredwithpartiallyreducedLa0.5Ce0.5O1.75andweredispersedonathermostables
7、upport.Furthermore,FouriertransforminfraredspectrameasuredafterN2additiontothecatalystrevealedthatN2adsorptiononRuatomsthatinteracteddirectlywiththereducedLa0.5Ce0.5O1.75weakenedtheN^Nbondandthuspromoteditscleavage,whichistherate-Received17thDecember2017d
