2、workisastrongcan-•Packetaggregation—InOPSnetworks,IPpacketsdestinedtodidateforthefutureOpticalInternet.Inthispaper,westudypacketthesamedestinationcanbeaggregatedtoformalargeropticalaggregationanddeflectionroutingasemployedinOPSnetworksonthepacket.Thisisnecessaryespeciall

3、ywhentheopticalswitchesperformanceofupperlayerInternetprotocolsrepresentedbyTCPandUDP.Regardingpacketaggregationschemes,westudynoaggregation,arenotfastenoughtoprocessindividualIPpackets.Clearly,mixed-flowaggregation,andper-flowaggregation.Ourresultsshowthatpacketaggregati

4、onimplieswaitingdelayforsomepackets.forbothTCPandUDP,mixed-flowaggregationachievesthehighestMoreover,anopticalpacketmaycontainmultiplepacketsfromthroughput,andper-flowaggregationsignificantlydecreasesthefairnessthesameflow.Whenitisdroppedormis-routedintheOPSatlargeaggregati

5、onintervals.BothaggregationschemesincreaseUDPnetwork,thethroughputoftheflowmaybeadverselyaffected.delayjitter.Regardingdeflectionrouting,weshowthatdeflectionroutingsignificantlyimprovesTCPthroughputinspiteoftheout-of-orderpacketInthisregard,howpacketaggregationaffectstheTCP

6、anddelivery.However,thecongestionofthedeflectionpathsignificantlyUDPperformanceisanimportantissue.Westudyinthispaperaffectstheimprovementthatcanbeachieved.UDPthroughputdoesthreeaggregationschemes:noaggregation,aggregatingpacketsnotsufferfromout-of-orderpacketdelivery,andh

7、enceitsthroughputfromheterogeneousflowsintoanopticalpacket(mixed-flowimprovementbydeflectionroutingcanbeevenmoreprominent.Thelargerthedeflectioncost(delaydifferencebetweenthedeflectionpathaggregation),andaggregatingpacketsfromthesameflow(per-andtheshortestpath)is,thelargerUDP
