3、iblenotonlyplaysanimportantroleinWestemculture，butalsohasprofoundinfluenceonChinesecultureduringthecourseofChineseBibletranslation．TheChineseBibletranslationhasahistoryofover1300yearssinceTangDynasty．AstherapiddevelopmentofChristianityinChina，variousversionsofChineseBiblewereborn．Amongthoseversions，

4、TCV(Today’SChineseVersionoftheBible)，undertheguidanceofNida’S“functionalequivalence"，istranslatedforbothChristianandnon—Christians．Itismoreacceptableandintelligiblethanotherversions．Meanwhile，asapartoftheBible，thepsalmswerealsointroducedtoChinawiththeChineseBibletranslation．Onthebasisof“functionaleq

5、uivalence”，thispaperisdesignedtoanalyzethepsalmsinTCVSOastotestifytheefficiencyof‘‘functionalequivalence"intranslatingpsalmsintoChinese．‘‘Functionalequivalence’’wasfirstproposedbyEugeneNidain1964as"dynamicequivalence”．Itisdefinedintermsofdegreetowhichthereceptorsofthemassageinthereceptorlanguageresp

6、ondtoitsubstantiallythesamemannerasthereceptorsinthesourcelanguage．NumerousBibletranslationshaveappearedundertheguidanceofthistheory,amongwhichthemostpopularisTCV．Thispaperhasacasestudyonthetranslationofpsalmsfromtheperspectiveof“functionalequivalence”intermsoflevelsofwords，sentencesandpassages．Itpr
