2、nslationandInterpretingByGanLiUndertheSupervisionofAssociateProfessorXiaoManqiongChangsha，HunanApril，2013摘要定语从句是科技英语中最常见的语法修饰成分。科技英语中的定语从句常常具有复杂的结构，包含繁多的意义，像一般定语从句一样，置于所修饰或限定的词语后面。汉语中的定语一般是前置，因此不宜太长，结构也相对简单。如何将科技英语中的定语从旬忠实、完整、通顺地翻译成汉语，使译文读者对其传递的信息的理解与把握跟原文读者对其信息的理

3、解与把握能够基本一致，实现功能对等，是每一个科技工作翻译者面临的难题之一。本文运用奈达的功能对等理论，对科技英语中定语从句的翻译进行分析探讨。除了引言和结语之外，本文由三个章节组成。第一章对功能对等理论进行简介，阐述其对定语从句翻译的指导意义；第二章概述科技英语中定语从句的结构特点和语义特点；第三章通过实例分析，探讨科技英语定语从句的一些翻译方法。笔者认为，通过运用前置法、分译法和合译法等翻译方法，译者可以忠实有效地表达出原文中定语从句所包含的意义，使译文表达自然通顺、严谨富有逻辑性，很好地为译文读者接受。关键词：翻译方法
