3、oetry.“Ge”mainlyreferstothestandardofthestyle,theinternalvigourofpoetryalsobeingproperlyembodiedintheexternalfeaturesoftheworks.“Diao”isconcernedwithtone,alsocontainingtheartisticcharmofpoetrybeingfulfilledinthetone.“Ge-Diao”isconsideredtoincludethecompletei
4、ntendedconceptsof“Ge”and“Diao”,bothofwhichhavethedoublemeaningsofformandcontent.However,Ge-Diao’sconnotationisalsoreflectedinitsform,thusdeservingtobecalled“thesignificativeform”ofchinesepoetry.ThesecondchapterstudiesthethinkingpatternofthetheoryofGe-Diao.Th
5、efullimplicationofthispatternistoappreciatetheanciendstyleofGe-Diaoandtrytogainathoroughunderstandingofintentionbyre-readingtheworksofthepredecessorstosuchadegreethatonecanproduceworkswhichischaracterizedbyoriginalityandsimilarityinspirittotheworksoftheancie
6、nt.thetoneisthelogicalstarting-pointofthispattern,butaffectionistheinternaldriving-powerthatactsonthetone,anditisaffectionthathasbeenadoptedbythetraditionalConfucianismastheuprightsentiment.Astolearningfromtheancient,theSongscholarssoughtthedifferences,where
