3、atetheACOPFinseveralways,compareeachformulation’sproperties,andarguethatthecurrent‐voltageሺIVሻformulationanditslinearapproximationsmaybeeasiertosolvethanthetraditionalquadraticpowerflowformulations.UnliketheDCmodelthatholdsvoltageconstant,ignoresreactivepowerandassumessmallvolta

4、geangledifferences,theIVformulationsolvesalinearsystemofequationswithoutdecomposition,unnecessaryconstraintsoromissions.Thenonconvexconstraintsneedcarefulconsideration.Forproblemsthataresolvedrepetitivelywithminorvariations,thereisconsiderablepotentialforindividualparametertunin

5、gandpreprocessedconstraints.Forexample,constraintsonanglesandpastiterativelyaddedconstraintsmaybeabletohelp.InitialresultsindicatethattheIVformulationanditslinearapproximationshavepromisetomeetpracticalcomputationalrequirements.Inaddition,steady‐statequadratureconstraintsongener

6、atorsarelinearintheIVformulationandcanbeincludedintheformulation.Additionalformulationtestingandcomputationaltestingareneededtodeterminecommercialfeasibility.IfalinearIVapproximationtotheACOPFprovespromising,itcanbeembeddedintheunitcommitmentmodels,optimaltopologymodelsandotherf
