3、ovidesanoverviewofgesturalandlinguisticcompetenciesareassumedtoemergeinfants’predictionskillsofactiongoals,aswellastheirtypicallybyabout8-12monthsofage.Theauthorsalsoabilitytopredictperceptualacousticinformation.Predictionspeculatedonthepossibilitythatthe6-mon

4、th-oldinfants’skills’neurologicalcorrelatesingeneralarediscussed.Ainabilitytopredicttheactor’sactiongoalcouldoriginatecentralhypothesisunderinvestigationisthattherearefromtheirgeneralinabilitytopredictfutureeventswithcommonalitiesbetweenthedevelopmentofspeecha

5、ndtheirgaze.Howeverthisassumptionwasrejectedasitmanipulation.Thecurrentresearchisfocusedontheconflictswiththeresultsfromearlierexperimentscommunicationmodeinvestigatinginfants’abilitytodemonstratingthat6-month-oldscouldindeedpredicttheassociateimagesoffamiliar

6、objectswithauditory-stimulireappearanceoftemporarilyoccludedobjects.presentedbothaswholewordsinintactformandasdisrupted(partlynoise-replaced)spokenwords.ThelookingbehaviourFalck-Ytteretal.’s(2006)studyalsosuggestedthatoftheinfants’wasmeasuredwiththeTobiieye-tr

7、ackingsuccessfulgoalpredictionreliesonobservingtheinteractiondevice.Theresultssuggestedthat11to16month-oldinfantsbetweenthehandoftheagentandtheobject.Indeed,therecognizethetargetobjectwhenthewordreferringtoitwasresultsfromanotherexperimentalconditionwherethein
