3、lquantitativesocialscienceresearchhasnotfullyabsorbedtheselessons.Inthischapter,wedescribekeyestimationstrategiesforthestudyofheterogeneoustreatmenteffects;wediscussrecentresearchthatattendstocausaleffectheterogeneity,withafocusonthestudyofeffectsofeducat

4、ion,andwhatwegainfromsuchattention;andwedemonstratethemethodswithanexampleoftheeffectsofcollegeoncivicparticipation.Theprimarygoalofthischapteristoencourageresearcherstoroutinelyexaminetreatment-effectheterogeneitywiththesamerigortheydevotetopretreatmenth
