3、throughintuitivemovements,expressionsorspecificsituation.AmericanbodylanguageexpertPattiWood1foundinalong-termexperiment:ifapersonwantstoconveycompleteinformationtoothers,simplelanguageonlycovers7%,tone38%,andtheother55%oftheinformationneedstobeconveyedbynon-ve
4、rballanguage.AmericanpsychologistEdwardT.Hall2alsopointedoutinhisbooktheSilentlanguage3:thesilentlanguagenotonlyshowsmuchmoremeaningthanthesoundlanguage,butalsomuchmoreprofound,assoundlanguagetendstohidemanyorevenmostmeaningoftheexpression.Nomatter“Non-verballa
5、nguage”or“silentlanguage”,bothofthemmainlyrefertobodylanguage.Soitisclearthatbodylanguageplaysacommunicativerolewhichcannotbereplacedbysoundlanguage,asitemphasizesthecontentsofthespeechandincreasespecialsignificancetothespeech.Then,whatisbodylanguage?Bodylangua
