3、ailability.Discreteandcontinuous-timeformulationsarepresentedthatcanaddresstheseissuestogetherwithmultipleintermediateduedates.Bothformulationsrelyontheresource-tasknetworkprocessrepresentation.Theircomputationallyperformanceiscomparedfortheobjectiveoftotalelectricityminimi

4、zationwiththeresultsfavoringthediscrete-timemodelduetothemorenaturalwayofhandlingsuchawidevarietyofdiscreteevents.Inparticular,itcansuccessfullyhandleproblemsofindustrialsize.Nevertheless,thenewcontinuous-timemodelisamajorbreakthroughsinceitisthefirstmodelofitstypethatisabl

5、etoeffectivelyincorporatetime-variableutilityprofiles.Whencomparedtoasimplemanualschedulingprocedure,theproposedschedulingapproachescanleadtopotentialelectricitysavingsaround20%byswitchingproductionfromperiodsofhightolowelectricitycost.*Towhomcorrespondenceshouldbeaddressed
