4、lebioleachingprocess,whichisthemostprobablerestrictingnutrientfortannerysludgebioleaching.FurtherexperimentsrevealedthatthedeficiencyofPicouldseriouslyinfluencethegrowthofAcidithiobacillusthiooxidansandloweritsoxidizationcapacityforS0,andthelimitingconcentrationofPiforthegrowthofA.thi

5、ooxidanswas6mg/L.ThelowconcentrationofsolublePiinsludgematrixwasresultedfromtheextremelystrongsorbing/bindingcapacityoftannerysludgeforphosphate.Thesupplementationofmorethan1.6g/LKH2PO4intotannerysludgebioleachingsystemcouldeffectivelystimulatethegrowthofAcidithiobacillusspecies,enh

6、anceCrremovalrateandfurthershortentannerysludgebioleachingperiodfrom10daysto7days.Therefore,inorganicphosphatesupplementationisaneffectiveandfeasiblemethodtoacceleratetannerysludgebiol-eachingprocess,andtheoptimumdosageofKH2PO4was1.6g/Lfortannerysludgewith5.1%oftotalsolids.ª2011Else
