5、needinformationonthelikelyeconomicimpactsofalternativescenarios.Thispaperexaminesthelikelyeffectsofaone-thirdreductioninthevalueofUKarmsexports.Itfindsthatbetween13,333and40,000jobswouldbelostandthatofthosethatremaininthelabourforceoverhalfwillfindnewworkwithinayear.The
6、South-Westwouldbetheworstaffectedregionlosing0.3percentofalljobs;defencesaleswouldbecutbybetween3and8percent;aerospaceoutputwouldbecutbybetween5and9percent,andtotalexportswouldfallby0.5percent.Therewouldbeinitialadverseeffectsbut,overtime,resourceswouldbere-allocatedtoo
