3、iorhighschoolstudentstorecognizeandapplythewordsproperly.ThusitisnecessarytoprovideaneffectivemethodinEnglishvocabularyteachingtoimprovetheirlexicalcompetence.Amindmap,createdbyTonyBuzaninthe1970s,isatypeoftooltoshowtheradiantthinking.Itcanrepresentcolors,imagesandcharacteratt
4、hesametime;therefore,it’seasyforpeopletoremembertheinformation.Thisresearchprojectaimstoexploretheinfluencethatthemindmapusedinteachingplaystoimprovethelexicalcompetenceofstudentsinjuniorhighschool.Thereare84researchparticipantsfromtwoequivalentclasseswhicharetaughtbytheauthor
5、inFoshanNo.10JuniorHighSchool.Beforetheexperiment,theyhavenosignificantdifferenceonEnglishlexicalcompetence.Oneofthemisnamedastheexperimentalclassandtheothersisnamedasthecontrolclass.Thereare42studentsintheexperimentalclassand42studentsinthecontrolclass.Inordertomakethestudymo
6、reobjective,bothofclassesarestilltaughtbytheauthor.Theexperimentlastedforoneterm.Themindmapmethodwasemployedintheexperimentalclass,whilethecontrolclasswasexposedtothetraditionalteachingmethod.ThedataoftheexaminationswascollectedandanalyzedthroughtheSPSS19.0.Theexperimentresult
