3、rdertostudythebubblepenetrationdepth,horizontaldispersionandtheairjetangle.Ithasbeenobservedthatthebubblepenetrationdepthdependsmoreontheflowrateofwaterratherthanthatofair.Thebubblepenetrationdepthalsodependsontheportangleandonthe“well”providedontheSEN.Belowacertaincriticalw

4、aterflowratetheflowbecomesasymmetricintheslabcastermoldforagivenflowrateofair.SENwithawelldepthmayhelptoavoidbubbleentrapmentdefectsintheslabatthecostofhighersurfacedisturbancesonthemold.Amathematicalmodelingoftheairbubblemovementinwaterwasalsocarriedoutforthesameexperimentals

5、etupwhereitwasobservedthatforsameairflowratethebubblepenetrationdepthwasmoreforhigherwaterflowrateconfirmingtotheexperimentalfindings.Theexperi-encegainedfromtheexperimentandmathematicalmodelinghelpedtofinetunetheparametersatthecastersothatthestrikerateofultralowcarbongradesteel
